Godolphin's Midshipman wins 3-year-old debut at Belmont Park
Midshipman, Godolphin's Eclipse-award-winning 2-year-old of 2008, made his long-awaited return to the races on Friday Sept. 18 against a solid field in a 6 1/2-furlong optional claiming race at Belmont Park. Racing extremely wide through the stretch, Midshipmen won easily by nearly 4 lengths over up-and-coming sprinter Just Ben.
